Bideford a picturesque town in the heart of North Devon, a delightful region to explore, famous for its mild climate.  Discover the town’s many shops, charming park and impressive medieval bridge.

YOUR HOTEL  Durrant House Hotel, an elegant, comfortable hotel with a marble foyer complete with glass domed roof and ornamental fish pond.  The County Restaurant offers traditional cuisine.  Leisure facilities at the hotel include an outdoor swimming pool, sauna and solarium.  All bedrooms have en suite facilities, colour television, telephone, hairdryer, radio and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a lift to all floors. There are fifteen ground floor rooms accessed by five steps.  There will be three nights entertainment. 

MONDAY   Depart local pick up points and travel southwest stopping for lunch on route, arriving late afternoon at Bideford for our four night stay.

TUESDAY  After breakfast we shall take the short drive into Bideford a thriving market town and fishing port time to explore before a visit  to Great Torrington and Dartington Crystal.

WEDNESDAY   We travel southwards into North Cornwall and onto the popular resort of Bude with its extensive sands and its white topped waves a surfers paradise, walk along the canal, visit the local museum or just meander around the many individual shops.

THURSDAY  Today we visit Barnstaple an ancient town and claims to be the oldest borough in the United Kingdom.  During the times of the Doomsday Book it was known as Woolstaple a town licensed to export wool.  Today it is a thriving town with lots of fine buildings and scenic alleyways.  While you are here you could visit the award winning Heritage Centre which tells the story of over a thousand years of the town’s history.

FRIDAY  All too soon we must leave and retrace our steps home.
