The Isle of Man is an island rich in tradition and steeped in history.  It is distinctive and different in coastline, countryside and culture.  Life is leisurely and unhurried and the friendly inhabitants will help you to enjoy the rich variety of places to see.  The holiday is based in Douglas.  Additionally, the steam railway runs into Port Erin from here and all manner of excursion opportunities open up for you, from the electric trams up Snaefell to the horse-drawn ones along Douglas promenade. All attractions are free to National Trust & English Heritage Members.

YOUR HOTEL  Chesterhouse Hotel, centrally situated 3* overlooking the bay.  Evening entertainment on two evenings.  All bedrooms have en-suite showers, television and hospitality tray.  Only rooms with baths are Executive Sea View rooms at £10 supplement per room per night on request basis only.  Excellent meals provided are three course dinners with choice of menu and full Manx breakfasts. We stayed at this hotel for the first time in 2011 and were very impressed with the rooms, staff and the food. There is a lift to all floors, however some also have steps to them, please let us know your requirements.

THURSDAY  Depart Kettlewell’s yard or limited pick up points for our journey to Heysham for our crossing to the Isle of Man arriving at our hotel in time for dinner.

FRIDAY ~ SUNDAY  During our stay there will be various excursions planned including a ‘Round the Island’ tour mainly on the TT course calling at Peel on route with its wealth of attractions.  We shall take a scenic drive to Castletown, where there is lots to see and do before visiting Cregneash Folk Park and the Calf of Man (entrance to Cregneash Extra ).  A visit to Laxey where you can visit the Laxey Wheel or take the train up Snaefell mountain.

MONDAY  An early morning ferry crossing, we return to the mainland and proceed to the Retford area.
