Perranporth & the Great Gardens of Cornwall 7 Days 20th – 26th May 2012
Cornwall has so much to offer with almost 300 miles of unsurpassed coastline, featuring superb beaches, harbours rich in character and history, incomparable cliff and moorland vistas and a very favourable climate. This holiday is centred on the attractive little resort of Perranporth which is ideally situated for exploring the gardens of Cornwall. The resort itself has a variety of shops long sandy beaches and some delightful cliff walks.
YOUR HOTEL The Ponsmere Hotel enjoys an excellent position right on the seafront and each of the bedrooms enjoy superb sea or country views. All bedrooms have private facilities, colour TV, radio and tea making facilities. There are two lounge bars and an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. There is now, a lift to all floors. Excellent food.
SUNDAY Depart local pick-up areas for our journey to the Southwest and Cornwall for our stay of six nights making a couple of stops on route. As this is a fairly long journey you may wish to join the coach at our depot cutting down on the travelling time.
MONDAY Day at leisure. you may wish to just relax in a deck chair and soak
up the sun or catch the local bus to the artists paradise place of St Ives or alternative to Newquay famous for its surfing beaches.
TUESDAY After breakfast a full day tour stopping off at Padstow made famous by Rick Stein and a picturesque fishing port perhaps visit the Lobster Hatchery Visitor Centre and onto Tintagel the legendary seat of King Arthur.
WEDNESDAY A visit to the National Trust property of Lanhydrock a magnificent country house with an amazing insight into the lives of a wealthy Victorian household (admission included.)
THURSDAY Today we have a visit to the historic small cathedral city of Truro famous for its three great spires which rise dramatically above a cluster of narrow streets with elegant Georgian houses.
FRIDAY Day at leisure in Perranporth. Enjoy the beach or the indoor pool,
stroll around the shops or visit the lovely town or Truro, or yet another choice a visit to Trelissick Garden (National Trust) famous for its Rhododendrons and Azaleas (admission extra).
SATURDAY After breakfast and having had a lovely holiday, we must return home stopping for lunch on route.
