Information for Holidays

DEPOSITS
When you make a booking, you must complete the booking form and pay a deposit of £70 per person for UK destinations and £100 per person for continental destinations.  Seine cruise deposit is £150.  There is a 2% surcharge when paying by Visa or MasterCard.

INSURANCE
From 1 January 2009, the sale of travel insurance connected to holiday or related travel will be regulated by the Financial Services Authority.  As we do not hold the necessary authorisation, we are no longer able to offer or advise on travel insurance related matters after this date.  A special Coach Holiday Travel Insurance Scheme is available from our preferred Insurance Brokers; Holiday Extras who are Travel Insurance Specialists in the Coaching Industry.  A leaflet is available on request which will give you information on how to purchase Coach Holiday Travel Insurance.

JERSEY TRAVEL INSURANCE
Jersey does not have a reciprocal health agreement with the UK meaning that visitors will have to pay for medical treatment provided in Jersey if taken ill during their stay.  Please carefully check your current travel insurance as most policies do NOT cover medical expenses incurred in Jersey.  As such you must inform your insurance provider that you are travelling to the Channel Islands.

FINANCIAL FAILURE INSURANCE
Kettlewell (Retford) Ltd are a company committed to customer satisfaction and consumer financial protection. We are therefore pleased to announce that, at no extra cost to you, and in accordance with the “Package Travel, Package Tours Regulations 1992” all passengers booking with Kettlewell (Retford) Ltd are fully insured for the initial deposit, and subsequently the balance of monies paid as detailed in your booking confirmation form.  The policy will also include repatriation if required, arising from cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Kettlewell (Retford) Ltd.  This insurance has been arranged with MGA Cover Services Limited. Policy exclusions:  In the unlikely event of insolvency you must inform MGA Cover Services Ltd immediately on 020 35404422.  Please ensure you retain this booking confirmation form as evidence of cover and value.  This policy will not cover any monies paid back to you by your Travel Insurance or any losses which are recoverable under another insurance bond.

CHANGES
All arrangements, are made and advertised in good faith.  However, circumstances beyond our control may necessitate changes.  Any substitution will be of equal or higher standard.

LUGGAGE WEIGHT ALLOWANCE
We ask that you keep to one medium suitcase per person up to 20 Kilo (44lb), with the exception of holidays with overnight accommodation on route, where an extra overnight bag may be required, enabling the main suitcase to remain on the coach.

PASSPORTS
A valid passport is essential when you travel abroad.  Children may not travel unless accompanied.

SPECIAL REQUESTS
Should you have any special requests such as adjoining rooms, low or high floor, or special diet, then please advise us at the time of booking and fill in the appropriate section of the booking form.  Although we cannot guarantee to meet your requirements, we will make every effort to pass on your wishes to the hotel management concerned.

HOLIDAY ROUTES
We realise that the route taken is an important part of the enjoyment of the holiday.  Therefore, we take time to plan routes carefully.  Ample comfort stops are always made.  There is no overnight travel on any of our holidays.

ELECTRIC SCOOTERS
Our company is prepared to carry dry-battery scooters or wheelchairs but only on the understanding that the user, or their partner is responsible for lifting the item on and off the coach.  There is a maximum of one scooter per holiday.

SEATING ALLOCATION
When making your booking specific coach seats may be requested.  You retain your seat for the duration of the holiday.  Early booking is essential.  On occasions for operational reasons a coach of a different size and/or seating configuration may be used and we must therefore reserve the right to alter seating and allocate seats other than those you have booked. Although this will be avoided as far as possible.  We shall have no liability in relation to any such changes or specifications.  Please note when booking a single seat it may be necessary to re allocate to utilise all coach seats.

NON SMOKING POLICY
Smoking is not permitted on any of our coaches.

CANCELLATION OF YOUR BOOKING BY YOU
If you wish to cancel your holiday for any or all persons after your booking has been confirmed, the person who signed the Booking Form must notify the Company in writing at the Company’s office. This does of course incur administrative costs and the Company may not be able to re-sell your booking, in this case the Company will retain your deposit and apply the cancellation charges on the following scale:

HOLIDAY JOINING POINTS
All Continental holidays depart from our premises in Grove Street, Retford.  A feeder service may be available at an extra cost of £15 per person within the town area & £20 out of town, payable with the balance of your holiday.

HOLIDAY JOINING POINTS
All English holidays pick ups will be made in the local area at the following places with no extra charge:
Worksop, Harworth, Bawtry, Ranskill, Scrooby, Sutton cum Lound, Mattersey, Retford, Tuxford, East Markham, Elkesley, Walesby, Ollerton & Edwinstowe.

Any other place of pick up will incur a small charge.

FINAL PAYMENT FOR HOLIDAY
The balance of your holiday must be paid nine weeks before departure.  Full payment is required.  NO reminders will be sent.

By each holiday is clearly indicated what is and is not included in the price.  If you are not clear, please ask.
